MISTAKES I MADE BEFORE LAUNCHING MY BLOG

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend and are starting this week on a right note. Today I decided to come on here and share with you some of the things I wish I had done before launching my blog. My blog is just seven months old, so I’m still a newbie and it hasn’t been easy, this blogging gig is not a joke but I’m getting a hang of it and learning something new everyday. Blogging has been such a great journey and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way, I now know why I started blogging and that it was the right decision to make. So now that I’ve finished my speech(clap! clap!), let’s get back to the topic of the mistakes I made before launching my blog.

MY VISIT TO CROATIA HOLIDAY ROUNDUP

MY VISIT TO CROATIA HOLIDAY ROUNDUP

It’s been a while,

I know guys and I am sorry I’ve been missing for a minute or two but I am now back and feels good to be at it again. I forgot how travelling makes me feel so exhausted and worn out by the time I come back. I mean all the packing and preparations was exciting and all until I came back to reality again. My son has always wanted to swim in the sea and I was happy that we were able to plan a trip there. I decided not do any blogging while away and to just have a break from it, relax and enjoy. So here is my visit to Croatia holiday roundup plus photos of course.

This was my second trip this year and unlike my last one here which I went on my own, this time around my family had to be there because if you read my back at it again post here, you know that I lived in Croatia for four years, had my son there and his grandparents always need to see him once in a while.

IS IMPULSE BUYING COSTING YOU MONEY? LET’S FIX IT.

is impulse buying costing you money? let's fix it

Hi guys, I hope you had a fabulous weekend and that your week is going great. When I was grocery shopping during the weekend I realised how far I’ve come from doing any shopping in general. You see, before I would go into a store and pick something up because it either looks good or maybe I wanted to try it out without even giving it a thought whether or not I really needed it. I still have a juicer which resides in a cupboard because I thought I would be into juicing at the time. Nowadays, I’ve rectified that by knowing that impulse buying was the culprit and was costing me money. So onto the question is impulse buying costing you money?

The answer is YES

I know that sometimes you might really want something once you see it and I also know that unlike me, there some people who would like to have five sweaters of the same kind but in different colours. Don’t get me wrong but I just think that it’s a waste of money and would rather spend that money on something else. How can you fix that?

1.STAY ORGANISED

When I talk about staying organised, I mean know exactly what you have and don’t have around your home and if there is anything that you need to replace. Once your organisation is on point, you will less likely want to get something on the whim when you are out. So remember to get it together first by having an organisation plan. There’s no point of having three kettles just because they would look nice on your counter. To see how I get organised, find here.

2.HAVE A BUDGET

Impulse buying usually happens when you think or assume that you need something and not knowing it will cost you. To avoid that, have a monthly or weekly budget for everything, your groceries, home products, just everything. Once you have a budget in place, be tight with it and stick to it. When I started budgeting, I failed many times because I didn’t stick to it and ended up struggling when I really wanted something and it wasn’t good, you need to sacrifice all the temptations and just do it. A budget planner will really help if you’re just starting out.

HOW TO GET NOTICED AS A BLOGGER

Hello Everyone

When I started blogging, which is not that long ago, I had to learn a lot of things really fast and correct my mistakes along the way. I still don’t know everything about blogging but I like getting to figure out stuff and learning even much more from other bloggers. Once you get into this blogging world, you realise real quick that you are not the only one and that some have been doing this gig for quite some time which may make you feel discouraged and wonder how you can also get out there and join other bloggers at the top. This is how to get noticed as a blogger.

HOW TO GET NOTICED AS A BLOGGER

1.CONSISTENCY

We’ve all had about this consistency, and yes people it is key. If you want people to know who you are and continue coming back to your content, then you need to have a plan on how you will be consistent in your writing and keep at it. I am not saying write a post everyday, I tried that and ended up just making everything even harder for myself. So I would suggest you create a schedule and have certain days for writing, planning and publishing. The more consistent you are the better for your readers to come back.

MY VISIT TO KENYA HOLIDAY ROUNDUP

my visit to Kenya holiday roundup

Hi guys, spring is starting and am getting excited. On my last month’s update here, I talked about going on holiday and how scary it was for me since I was leaving my son for two weeks and I had never left him ever since I had him and as much as it freaked me out, it was the best decision. I am going to try and make this post as short as possible by probably bombarding you with my holiday photos that I managed to take when I remembered. This is my visit to Kenya holiday roundup.

How did it all come about?

When we were planning to go visit Croatia last year, I thought of how my husband and son would go by themselves and I would visit my parents instead. At first, it sounded crazy and I ignored it for a while until I started thinking about it more and decided I was going to do it and see how it all goes. So a few months later, I started planning my trip.

If you read my 20 random facts about me post, you already know am Kenyan and my whole family is there so my destination was obviously going to be Kenya. I started telling my son when I was going and how long I was going for just for him to be ready, my mother in-law came to visit at the same time so that she would be able to spend more time with her grandson and help take care of him while my husband was at work. I arrived in Nairobi very early and shocked my family in the early hours, it was a very good surprise.

HOW TO MONETIZE YOUR BLOG

how to monetize your blog

Almost everyone who starts a blog reaches a point where they start thinking of how they can make some money while doing what they love, after all blogging is work and it takes time and effort. As much as some people may think that it’s nothing other than just writing whatever, I tend to disagree because by the time you think of what to write, then write it and then edit and find images, that is work. So when you hit publish, you know that you are proud of what you have done but will still have to go and do it all over again. That’s why if you think about it, shouldn’t you at least try to make some money from doing it? Plus a little extra money never hurt anyone. I have some few ways on how to monetize your blog.

  • AFFILIATE MARKETING

If you already have some products that you use all the time and have even reviewed once or twice, why not make some extra money from them. All you have to do is find companies that relate to your niche and see if they have an affiliate program or if there is an online store that you always shop at, also check it and sign up. Once you do that, your job is to do honest reviews and try to tell your readers why you bought it, or how will it help them and if someone thinks they could do with that product, then buying it earns you a commission. At the end of it, it doesn’t cost the reader anything when you tell them about what you like only if they decide to try it out. There are many companies with affiliate programs nowadays, don’t miss out.
