Hello everyone, I hope that your long weekend went well and are now ready for another week. We all know that women in general like looking good and our hair is a big part of our image. I have natural hair and I try to take care of it as much as I can from my washing routines, deep conditioning, moisturising and protective styling. All that always relies on having hair products that are staples and work well to achieve healthy hair. Natural hair is no easy job I tell you, from having routines and schedules to take care of it, only the right products can help make your life easier. These are my current natural hair products.
1.SHAMPOO
I am not going to bore you by saying too much here, I usually shampoo my scalp most of the time but if my hair has too much build up, then I also do the rest of the hair. For my shampoo, I use the Shea Moisture Jamaican black castor oil shampoo which I had put on my current January favourites here, but I had to use it a couple of times to see whether I love it or not and I must say it is a keeper. It cleanses perfectly and leaves your feeling clean but not squeaky clean which I hate the feeling of.

2.CONDITIONER
My conditioner has stayed the same for so long now, I don’t use any fancy ones or anything like that because if my hair is managing well with a particular product, I have no reason to change it and if it ain’t broke why fix it right? Anyway my go to conditioner is the TRESemmé shampoo which adds extra moisture and it does a good job too. It works well to detangle my hair and gives me a lot of slip which is a plus for me.

3.DEEP CONDITIONER/LEAVE IN CONDITIONER
I am sure your wondering like “Do you use the same conditioner to deep condition and as a leave in?” Well yes I do. There’s no point of having to stress my hair and myself by getting so many products when I can get one that will do what I want and that works. The product I use is my trusty Cantu shea butter leave in conditioner which I use for both plus I also use it if I want to style my hair with twists and flat twists. For the price and the amount I get, I have always used it and never thought to change it, I just love it.

4.GELS
This is very simple, the only gel I have used for my hair and I have kept is the olive oil eco-styler gel. I used to use the kinky curly gel but always left residue that I never liked and as much as I tried to combat it, never worked and with my impatience, I changed it and stuck to this particular one but I will be trying out new ones soon if I get tired of this.

5.OILS
When it comes to oils, I do tend to change them according to how my hair feels and if I think my hair needs something extra, I use coconut oil, castor oil, virgin fertiliser and vitamin E. When it comes to undoing my twists, coconut oil works just fine and I use castor and vitamin E oil when I need to pre-poo my hair and if I’ve had a protective style for long then I use them. Other than that, these are my current ones, find here my tips on natural healthy hair. For more beauty uses for coconut oil, you can check them out here. The virgin fertiliser comes in a tube and I must say I really like it, if you’re too keen on smells, then I don’t think it’s for you but the results are good enough.
6.WATER
I know it’s not really a product, but I use water all the time to moisturise my hair when it feels too dry and needs moisture, water in a spray bottle works perfectly and I spritz my hair every two days, you can also mix the water with some oil or cream to save you time of layering, even when I have protective styles which I am doing all the time to give my hair a break. I make sure to keep my hair moisturised and water is my best friend always, use water and give your hair some life.
So there you have it, these are my current natural hair products that I have been using and so far they are working. This year I made a goal to do as much protective styling as I can to just see the results and to give myself a break because all these wash days are no joke and I just get tired with all the process my hair needs to just be washed and taken care of, I know I’m not the only one there. If you have any questions about the products or have ideas for me do share or comment below.
