Hello,
I know it’s been a while and I am sorry for disappearing like that but a well deserved break was needed and hopefully I can keep up, I have just been in a rut and wasn’t feeling like blogging at all. Anyway, I have a post for you today, when it comes to nails, I am one of those people who likes looking at well-manicured nails and try to copy designs, or look for particular nail polishes I see online and figure out whether or not they suit me and along the way, I used some hacks for my so called manicure sessions. These are nail polish and nail hacks every girl should know.
1. REVIVING DRY NAIL POLISH
We all have that one nail polish we love and like using all the time but tends to dry up after sometime, and if you really want to use it one last time, all you have to do is spray a few pumps of your perfume into the bottle and shake it for a while, you not only revive your nail polish but it ends up smelling really good too.
2. NAIL POLISH REMOVER
When you need a nail polish change and have run out of remover, you again can use your trusty perfume and go ahead and remove your nail polish, the first time I heard about it I was like yeah right, until I tried and it actually worked so don’t stress when you have no more remover, you have perfume to the rescue.
3. FIXING SMUDGED NAIL POLISH
You know those times where you are so proud of how your newly painted nails look until you need to either pick up something or even open a cupboard, and then you get the dreaded smudge, or your polish just moves and destroys it, well this is one nail polish hack that might sound disgusting, but the fastest way to fix that is by using your own saliva, by just licking your nail and trying to move the polish back, but if you are that squeamish, then go ahead and repaint your nail.
4. CUTICLE REMOVER
Having a manicure is fabulous, but if you do get to do it on your own at home which can save you some money, you can actually use your hair treatment or conditioner and apply it on your fingers and deep them in warm water for a while this softens your cuticles and when you remove your hands, you are able to remove your cuticles much easier plus it’s time saving.
5. CUTICLE OIL
Most people might think that just because you see something written cuticle oil, that it is a must for you to buy that particular product, all I can say is just get some coconut oil and massage it in your nails, does the same thing and has no fancy name to look for and to find more beauty uses for coconut oil, go here.
6. WHITEN DARK NAILS
After using dark nail polishes for a long time back to back without giving your nails a break, they tend to turn dark and lose the white healthy look, this is usually not nice to look at and to at least make them look better, take some toothpaste and bicarbonate of soda and brush your nails for a while then rinse, repeating this for some time does help depending on how dark your nails have become, I also heard that lemon also does help, doesn’t hurt to try.
7. DRYING NAIL POLISH FASTER
Next nail polish and nail hacks is if you do not have a nail drier and need to hurry to go somewhere, then just run some cold water on your nails and the polish will dry up much faster. To see how I get great nails from home check this post here.
8. MAKE JEWELLERY LAST LONGER
There is always that one piece of jewellery that is your favourite but it starts fading a bit and you know you will have to get rid of it, but to avoid that and give your jewellery a longer life span, coat the piece with clear nail polish after you buy and let it dry, this will protect your jewellery since the fading is caused by sunlight and the coating will be like a protector for your jewellery.
9. STOP RUNNING TIGHTS
Have you ever worn your tights then during the day, your nail or even just a table or door scratches you and you end up with a run on your tights? Well to make it stop running and give you a chance to dash home or to that meeting, make sure you have some clear nail polish and just apply a small dot where the run stops to avoid it continuing, this will buy you sometime to get home at least.
10. CLEAN UP NAIL POLISH
If you don’t have the peel off nail protector when applying your nail polish, no need to worry, I usually wait for the nails to dry then go ahead and use a cotton swap dipped in nail polish remover and use it to clean the sides, this may take some time but it still does the job.
That’s it everyone, these are the nail polish and nail hacks every girl should know and hopefully they will help someone. In case you missed my last beauty post, do check out some of the products I would love to try out here. If you do get to try them, do tell me how it went in the comments below and I hope to hear some of your hacks too. Do you use any of these hacks?

I love doing my nails. Thank you for sharing these great tips and these are so easy to follow. 😁
I wish I could paint my nails all pretty. Instead it looks like a toddler did it.
My nail polish/nail care “hack” is to go get them done at a nail salon! LOL! 😉 I am so not good at doing my own nails… And I never get colors on my fingers! I just love going to get them done too cause I feel like I am getting pampered – which… I am! 🙂
Good one, I am yet to find a good nail tech around where I stay hence the doing myself part but I could use with some pampering feeling lol.
I’m definitely going to be using some of these! I have to have my nails painted at all times, pretty much!! Thanks for this.
These are some great hacks, I need to get better at using cuticle oil myself I am always forgetting about it! Which is SO Bad.
This is so helpful! The struggle with nail polish is real lol I do number 1 but instead of perfume I add a few drops of nail polish remover and works wonders. Thanks for sharing these tips, they are really handy.

I never thought about running cold water over nails to make them dry or using perfume as nail polish remover. There has been many times I couldn’t find my remover! I’ll have to keep that in mind.
I am so glad I saw this. I don’t like long over complicated tutorials. This was perfect!
Thank you I hope you do get to try out some of them.
Well deserved break Joan. Like you, I cook all the time but my manicure is non negotiable!
Thank you, I also need to go back to making my nails often since cooking comes in the way lol.
Great ideas. I have used that polish on the pantyhose hack for years. It’s frigging genius!
I know right? works like magic.
