Recipe week 3 (Day 5)
Finally we have come to the end, I would have continued up to day 7 but l decided to stop on day 5 and give it a rest since I still have other posts scheduled unrelated to food and are long overdue. I have really enjoyed posting everyday this week and as much as it wasn’t easy with kids and life in general, I managed. Also I call them recipe weeks for a reason which pushes me to be able to do them. So today I am going to share with you my love for chicken wings, like I really LOVE chicken wings and if I had to choose to have them every time I had any chicken dish then I definitely would. My oven baked honey sriracha chicken wings recipe is what I have for you today, sticky, spicy and just finger licking good. You will need;
Ingredients
- 700 gms chicken wings separated
- Turmeric
- Garlic granules
- Cayenne pepper
- Onion powder
- All purpose seasoning
- Paprika
- Black pepper
- 1 tsp Olive oil
- A tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- Sriracha to taste
- A tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
METHOD
- Place your wings into a bowl and add in a teaspoon each of all the spices, olive oil and rub it in the wings to coat evenly.
- Then add your apple cider vinegar and give it another mix, cover with cling film and leave to marinate.
- I marinated mine for an hour but the longer the better.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C
- Arrange your wings in a lined tray and into the oven for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile mix your melted butter, sriracha, soy sauce and honey until well combined.
- Once your wings are done, pour your butter mixture into the chicken and give it a good toss.
- You could finish and serve them here but to make it even better, put them back in the oven for a further five minutes to make the butter stick even more.
- Don’t discard the remaining sauce in your bowl.
- Remove from oven and toss with the remaining sauce and that’s it.
- Serve and enjoy
Note: Depending on the amount of chicken wings you have then you will have to adjust the ratio of spices. Also I said sriracha to taste because it already has a sweetness and with the added honey it ends up becoming too sweet which I don’t really like so do taste the sauce and adjust to how you like it. Also the cayenne and sriracha are both hot so if you don’t like the heat also adjust.
That’s it, my final recipe this week and they are these lovely oven baked honey sriracha chicken wings. I hope you enjoyed my various recipes this week and get to try the ones you like. I will be back next week with some other interesting posts for you like this one here and if you missed my other recipe weeks do check them out.
