Recipe week (Day 3)
Hey, it’s me again and we are on day 3 of this recipe week. I hope you’re all doing great and that you’ve already seen my day 1 and 2 for this week. So what’s on today? Let’s talk tuna, funny enough I am still not a fan of tuna on it’s own until something is done to it. I can have it in a pasta salad, with some dressing over some salad leaves but never on it’s own. I don’t know what it is but it just doesn’t mesh well with me when it’s super plain hence my recipe for you today are these delicious and simple tuna fish cakes. For this recipe, you will need;
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tuna in water
- 2 eggs beaten
- One small chopped onion
- Chopped coriander
- Crushed thumb of ginger
- Salt to taste
- A tsp mustard
- Black pepper to taste
- Olive oil for shallow frying
METHOD
- In a sieve, drain your tuna into another bowl and add in your onions, ginger and coriander.
- Mix it altogether then add your salt, black pepper, mustard and your eggs.
- Mix them altogether once again and form them into patties, you can choose if you want them big or mini ones.
- In a heated frying pan, pour in some oil and let it heat up.
- Place your patties one by one and let them brown evenly turning them gently and ensuring they don’t break.
- Continue with the rest until you’re done.
- Serve an enjoy.
Note: Make sure your tuna is in water or brine and not in oil. You can do a variety of these by adding jalapenos to them too if you like it spicy. Also I didn’t add any breadcrumbs in order to get the real tuna flavour out them. Depending on the size of your cans, make sure your consistency is good enough to form patties and not crumbly to break apart.
That’s it for day 3 lovely people, simple tuna fish cakes for you to enjoy anytime. This is by far the easiest recipe and I am sure you have all the ingredients right at home. If you have any questions for me, do ask in the comments below and why not check out my coconut milk fish curry and potato and salmon fish cakes too if you have the time. I hope you’re loving this recipe week as much as I am, see you tomorrow and stay safe.

OMG! This looks so yummy, and so easy to do. Much needed dinner inspiration right on time.
I’m not a fan of tuna either. On it’s own, it has this fishy smell that I can’t stand but your recipe looks really heart. Love that you add ginger too!

I love that this uses ingredients most people would have in their pantry right now. While I don’t eat tuna or eggs, it inspires me to get creative in the kitchen!
