IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SWADDLE

Hey there,

So baby boy is almost 4 months old and oh my has it been a journey. I never thought sleep deprivation would feel normal. Anyway I know it will change as he gets older but I sure wish it would happen sooner. The past few months have been quite adventurous to say the least. I’ve had ups and downs, the loudest house on the block, no longer have anything to wear due to spit ups, more poopy diapers than I can count and let’s just say I have accepted that my hair literally stays unkempt for as long as I wish and nobody should and can tell me nothing. I know it’s been a while and after hearing it’s all about the swaddle and that they deliver better and longer sleeps, here is what I think about some I’ve used.

HOW TO BOOST YOUR BLOG TRAFFIC WITH PINTEREST

Pinterest,

A while back, I wrote about tips on using Pinterest effectively which was beginner friendly and really easy to follow. Today I’m back with another Pinterest post to help you out, you see, I used Pinterest way back before I even started blogging but all my boards were all over the place, which made it irrelevant since all they showcased were a mixture of stuff which one could deem more like a confused group of boards. It was until I started my blog that I found out you could actually use it to drive traffic to your blog. Now if you read my other post here, then you have already created an account and your boards and are ready to now move to the next step. Here is how to boost your blog traffic with pinterest.

NEWBORN ESSENTIALS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER

Hello everyone,

I know I’ve been missing for a while but life with a newborn has really been taking a toll on me, keeping me busy and over all just showing me how life with two kids changes everything, also it made me realise how much time I had before versus now. Having a newborn can be both exciting and challenging at the same time depending on how your experience is plus just because it’s your second doesn’t mean it will be a breeze. For me, it’s been a mixture of both highs and lows and downright pulling my hair out moments but I am getting through it and coping. Today’s post is all about newborn essentials to make your life easier, if you’re expecting or plan to have a baby, then this should be right up your alley.

So, if you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you may have noticed that I didn’t mention anywhere that I was expecting my second child and as much as I wanted to tell you all about my experiences during my whole pregnancy, I decided to keep it private and I hope you all understand. Plus it does really help when your belly never shows and makes everyone think your mad when you show up with a newborn nine months later. I may just put all that in another post for next time but today, let’s get on with newborn essentials that have really helped me so far and are making my life easier.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE BUT I AM GLAD TO BE BACK

IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT I AM GLAD TO BE BACK

Where have I been?

Hello everybody, I hope you’ve all been fine. The last time I was here was with my ribs recipe, which in case you missed it, do check it out because they really are worth making. So where have I been? Let’s just do a mini recap without going crazy. Well we moved house after the one we were in got sold and had to vacate, I know these are the disadvantages of renting and not owning “sigh”. The worst part is that we had four weeks to find a new place and if you have moved house before, then you know it’s not that easy mostly if you bought more stuff. We had to find what’s available, be able to view them and at the same time do school runs. So that’s why I’ve been missing and yes it’s been a while but I am glad to be back.

HERE IS WHY I READ YOUR BLOG

Hello there,

Finally, I get to write the first post of the year. I know It’s kinda late but it’s all good so long as I do it right? Anyway where are my manners, happy new year to you all and I hope you’re all having a great start to it. Last year, I wrote a post on reasons why I don’t stay to read your blog and as much as it did really well, I also got some backlash from other readers who thought it wasn’t fair and that I was on the wrong. One may think that it would stop me from continue writing but as I wrote on that particular post, they were all my opinions and that I knew some would disagree with me and it was also totally okay if that happened, today’s post is the opposite. Here is why I read your blog.

I was asked by some of my readers what I would like to see in other blogs and what would make me stay to read them too. So these are my answers and yes people, once again I know that this might not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s just perfect. We are all entitled to our own opinions, don’t come for me. So what exactly would be in your blog that would make me stay and read it without exiting in seconds?

1. SIMPLE LAYOUT

We all know that we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but I tend to do that sometimes, it’s human nature. When it comes to a blog’s layout, it should be easy to follow and just simple. I know we all all want the most professional looking website but that can sometimes hurt your blog if you’re trying to include too many things from slides, to movable images just let it be. I will read your blog if I’m able to find something easily and fast, from your categories to your blog posts. If I can get to your about page without having to pass through other categories then I’m happy. Make your layout to be simple and easy to manoeuvre without someone having to stress about where to find your comment section or the pin it button.

LESSONS I’VE LEARNT IN ONE YEAR BLOGGING

LESSONS I'VE LEARNT IN ONE YEAR BLOGGING

Happy Blogaversary,

I still remember the day I was installing wordpress and had totally no idea what I was doing( oh the memories) but I’m happy to say that after one year of lots of writing and learning along the way, I managed to keep at it. So yes people Jocajic.com turned one last week and I had to write a post to tell you how everything was and most of all the lessons I’ve learnt in one year blogging. I’m going to try to make this post not to be too long and just be straight to the point, so let’s get right into it.

1. CONTENT IS KEY

I know you’ve heard about this a lot but I’m sorry to tell you that it’s true. If you want to gain traffic and more readers, your content has to be good enough to make someone stay and read your blog and also want to come back for more, my other post here has more on that do check it out. So make sure you write content that you would want to read and gain something from at the end of it all.

2. NETWORKING

I learnt this the hard way by being late to the promotion party all detailed here. In order for your blog to do well, you need to be able to network with other bloggers by use of social media and joining groups. It may sound as the simplest thing to do but you also have to figure out what kind of groups are right for you and are along your niche. By you doing that, you not only get traffic but you end up learning so much more from other bloggers out there just like you by asking for help where necessary that will help you in your blogging journey. I have been able to join great groups all through Facebook, Pinterest and Tailwind tribes which have really helped me immensely.
