Hello Everyone,

How have you all been? I hope all is well and you haven’t been missing out on my recipes. If you have, then no worries because there are plenty more for you in the coming weeks, if you haven’t subscribed yet, please do to be able to get notifications once I publish a new post. Well, this recipe today was kind of an accident in the making but ended up turning out quite well. See, I planned to use lemons but found out last minute that I had run out and all I had was orange juice and since I wanted something citrusy, I chose to use the juice instead. Let me just say that this is the best orange-baked chicken legs recipe. For this you will need;

Ingredients

  • 200 ml orange juice
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • A thumb of ginger crushed/grated
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

METHOD

  • In a bowl, mix in all the ingredients above, stir and set aside.
  • Take your chicken legs, remove excess fat and slit them a bit to let the marinade penetrate well.
  • Place your chicken into the mixture and make sure to coat every piece of the chicken with the marinade.
  • Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for an hour but overnight is even better. So you can plan ahead and prep them a day earlier.
  • Remember to remove them to come to room temperature 30 minutes before baking.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C fan assisted oven/200°C conventional oven/400°F
  • Place your chicken in a baking tray plus all the juices of the marinade.
  • Into the oven for 45 minutes depending on the size of your chicken legs.
  • Once done, baste with the remaining juices in the tray.
  • Serve and enjoy.

That’s it, a simple marinade for the best orange-baked chicken legs. If you have been enjoying my recipes lately, then I have more chicken recipes for you to try out and see which you fancy.
