T’is the season
Hey there, so December is around the corner and I haven’t even started any shopping yet. My tree is eating dust somewhere in the garage and don’t even get me started with gift giving. Anyway, I know some of you are already getting the hang of things and already have your tree up which is great by the way. Today’s post is a bit different, I already did some gift guides before which still apply this year be it for him, her and the kids. Also if you need some for the interior lover then I have one for that too but today I decided to give you the best thoughtful and practical housewarming gift ideas.
I am sure you’re wondering like really, housewarming? Yes that’s right, I am going to be moving house soon and I just decided housewarming gift ideas sound pretty good right now. Also there might be someone out there who is moving into a new home just in time for Christmas, so I would like to share with them some gift ideas which are thoughtful and practical at the same time. Okay let’s get started.
1. A DOOR MAT
I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t be thinking about the curb appeal of my house when I am moving in a new home rather getting everything inside organised. So a door mat is a housewarming gift anyone would love to receive. It’s simple, thoughtful and practical at the same time.
2. HOUSE PLANT
Plants are great in general and a money plant as a housewarming gift is even better, a money plant is a thoughtful gift in that it brings good luck and success according to Feng shui. Plus round leafed plants indoors are great for the energy of the home.
3. A COFFEE MAKER
I have moved house four times and this time will be my final one and every time we moved I either got rid of the coffee maker we had because it was too old or just needed replacement and always ended up forgetting that I will be needing my coffee the next day so this is definitely a thoughtful and practical housewarming gift, or a whole coffee maker hamper set to get them started right.
4. DISH SET
This can be in any form from mugs, plates and even spoons. There’s no worse thing than needing to drink or eat something and you are missing what to put it in or use to eat it with. If you want to be fancy, you can go ahead and get an engraved one for the family.
5. CANDLES
This one is obvious, candles just make any home feel all cosy and homey. So some scented candles would definitely be a great housewarming gift and getting a candle stand with it just tops it all off.
6. A WALL CLOCK
Now this is pretty thoughtful and practical and I don’t think anyone would expect to receive a clock but I think it’s actually a great housewarming gift and there so many great ones out there that you can make it be unique to the person you are giving to.
7. DIY HAMPER
It can’t get any more thoughtful than this, make your own hamper and it can be of anything, cleaning stuff, kitchen cutlery, towels, you name it. The hamper becomes what you want it to be and make it practical and something that will definitely be used and help the owner.
BONUS: Now if all fails and you forgot or had not time at all then a lovely bottle of wine or champagne will still work. It may not be practical but we sometimes could use a glass or two after moving into a new home for the celebration part.
There you go, the best thoughtful and practical housewarming gift ideas. These may also apply if it’s just a home renovation, I know gifts usually depend on the individual but I just thought I would share with you what I think would be the best. If you missed my other post to change your life then do stop by. If you have any other questions, please do ask in the comments below and until next time see yah. Have you already started your Christmas shopping or planning?

The Doormat is an idea I’ve taken from you. I’ll gift it to my friend. Do you have gift ideas specifically for men?
I do have a gift guide for him check it out in my first paragraph and click on the link.
I love the idea of giving houseplants. It would be nice to add a touch of greenery to a new home. Plants never fail to brighten everyone’s day.
I love candles and I am thankful whenever someone gave them to me. I agree they can be a nice housewarming gift.
Thank you.
A door mat or rug really is so housewarming. I already got those this Black Friday. And oh yeah…the coffee maker is a must have- I feel like the aroma of coffee always makes the house warm enough. Yuum!
Thank you.
